WHY USE AXENT LED LIGHTING?

LED Lighting is the best lighting available!

We’re sure that by now many of you have heard of LED lighting, and some of the benefits that it has to offer. But how many of these benefits do you really know about? Here is a summary of how LED lighting can benefit you, your finances and the environment:

  • LED lighting consumes up to 90% less power than ordinary incandescent lighting
  • It is the most environmentally friendly lighting on the market and is 100% recyclable
  • No mercury or toxic gases are used in production
  • It does not break and shatter like glass, making it safer to use
  • LED lighting lasts around 50,000 hours, or 11.5 years if switched on for 12 hours a day!
  • They produce very little heat output
  • They do not attract most insects when used outside
  • LED lighting reduces carbon footprints
  • Practically eliminates the need for maintenance
  • Nice, even lighting that is easy on the eyes
  • Does not abruptly burn out the way incandescent lighting does, but instead just slowly dims down
  • Does not emit UV rays or infrared radiation
  • Very light weight, therefore easier to mount on walls etc.
  • Expands lighting design flexibilities as LED’s are smaller in size

Why Switch to LED Lighting?

LED lighting is by far the most efficient lighting on the market. And the good news is that it's no longer a technology only used by large organisations, but is now becoming common in all sectors- residential and commercial. While a few years ago most forms of LED lighting required professional installation, now it can be as easy as changing a light bulb. The only difference is that unlike other types of lighting LED lighting is so long lasting that a decade could go by before it needs to be replaced. On top of that it can save up to 90% of energy, does not contain hazardous materials such as phosphor lead or mercury, has a low heat output and is unbreakable. They will not start flickering or buzzing like the incandescent and fluorescent lighting can, and produce an even light which is gentle on the eyes.

The reason why LED lighting is particularly popular with commercial sector goes beyond the reduction in energy costs, and is largely due to the fact that it almost eliminates down time associated with lighting replacement, such as when it is used above machinery or in highly public or difficult to reach places. The labour and down time costs saved can often greatly exceed the energy savings, which is why commercial buildings all over the world are now switching to LED lighting.

More and more households are now also switching to LED lighting, as a reduction in power bills can make a huge difference to household expenses. On top of that, people can use LED lighting with a clear consciousness as they are significantly reducing the energy consumption and environmental damage compared with standard lighting.

Environmental Friendliness and its Cost

While the initial cost of LED products may be more than what you would pay for the florescent lighting, given the energy saving and longer life span of LED products compared with ordinary lighting, you will be getting much greater value for your money. And on top of that, there are no environmental damages or health risks associated with lighting changes and disposal.

The average life span for LED lighting is 50,000 hours, which means that it will last over 5 years even if it was never switched off. This is the reason why LED lights are a popular choice for commercial buildings and factories, as often the high ceilings make light bulb replacement an expensive and time consuming task due to labour and downtime cost. On top of that, the fluorescent lights only use 20-25% of its energy to light the room, and the remaining 80-75% is wasted as heat output- meaning that 75-80% of your power bill is completely wasted. On the other hand, LED lights use approximately 80% of the energy to light the same area, greatly cutting down power usage and bills. Due to this reason, LED lighting is predicted to replace all the other lighting sources in the coming years.
